Heidelberg UK is now selling Gallus folding carton machines in the UK, while Gallus continues to serve the labels market directly.
The decision to use Heidelberg UK as the distributor of its folding carton machines follows the retirement of Jim Dunlop of CPL Solutions. It will allow Gallus to use the expertise of Heidelberg in this area with its established platform in folding cartons and diecutting equipment.
Paul Thompson, product manager for Heidelberg's folding carton portfolio, now leads the sales and service teams throughout the UK and the Republic of Ireland. He sees the portfolio as an excellent fit with Heidelberg's Diana folder gluer and Dymatrix and Varimatrix diecutters.
Gallus, which is 30 per cent owned by Heidelberg, offers the ICS 670 and smaller format CCS 510 machines that print (flexo, gravure and/or screen), finish (hot or coldfoil stamping, varnishing and/or laminating, reverse printing) and process from the reel to an individual carton blank in one pass. Larger format Intro machines are also available for high volume production and liquid packaging.
