Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) will be presenting an integrated portfolio of offset and digital print solutions for commercial and packaging printing at Gulf Print & Pack 2015, which is being held in Dubai from April 13 to 16. Prinect will incorporate the digital and offset printing systems on show and the associated prepress and postpress solutions into an integrated workflow. The commercial printing presentation will focus on the regional launch of the new Linoprint CV and Linoprint CP digital printing systems from Heidelberg, which deliver enhanced flexibility, productivity, and quality when printing short and/or personalized runs. Heidelberg will also be joining forces with the Gallus Group, which it took over completely last year, to provide details about trends in digital label production based on the inkjet technology of partner Fujifilm. Series production of the Gallus DCS 340 digital label press will start this year.

Region sees solid growth rates for print products

Print products are in growing demand in the emerging markets and developing countries of the MENA region. For one thing, there are more consumer goods to be labeled and packaged. For another, there is a need for all kinds of advertising materials in the private sector and for security printing of documents and securities in the public sector. As a result, print shops in these markets are increasingly investing in cutting-edge technologies. New printing companies are also opening in this growth region.

"Like virtually all markets, the MENA region is seeing a significant trend towards digital printing," says Harald Weimer, member of the Management Board responsible for sales and services at Heidelberg. "Our trade show presentation will therefore focus on using the Prinect print shop workflow to integrate our offset and digital print solutions and on the resultant economic benefits for our customers. Our partnerships with Fujifilm and Ricoh are key in getting new and promising products ready for the market in the shortest possible space of time," he adds.

In addition to prepress, press, and postpress solutions from Heidelberg, visitors to the trade show will be able to find out about the company's comprehensive range of services and sustainable consumables and see how they can improve a print shop's performance and competitiveness.

The company is extremely well placed in the MENA region. "We're the only manufacturer that is able to offer customers in this region an integrated portfolio of equipment, software, services, and consumables from a single source," concludes Weimer.
