Recent US print industry event Graph Expo 2008 “exceeded expectations and enjoyed brisk business”, according to organiser the Graphic Arts Show Co (GASC). While overall attendance was down 12.5 per cent over the 2007 event, “interested qualified buyers” from 8,800 individual companies are said to have marked a slight increase in the number of unique companies at this year’s show in Chicago, which hosted more than 600 exhibitors.
"The quality of attendees is higher. We can more easily identify who to talk to," observed Michael Ring, chief marketing officer and VP of sales at Xeikon, Punch Graphix. Susan Baines, director of marketing at Komori America, added: "Graph Expo was a good show for us. We've had quite a bit of momentum since the show that will carry us through the balance of the year”.
Graph Expo, which takes place annually, is replaced every fourth year by the Print show. The next of these will be on September 11-16, 2009 in Chicago's McCormick Place.
