Goldprint goes for a Gallop

16 September 2010

To meet the requirements for very small batches from its customers, Belgian packaging printer Goldprint has invested in a Gallop fully automated production line for folding cartons supplied by Xerox and Stora Enso.

Goldprint’s factory near Brussels is dedicated to the production of printed packaging mainly for pharmaceutical brand owners and contract packers. The company has ISO 9002 and ISO 14001 certificates and production is made according to the GMP rules of the pharmaceutical industry.

The new line combines a Xerox iGen 4 digital production press with a coating unit for UV or water-based varnish, a buffer-stacker to check the job integrity and a diecutting machine able to emboss Braille and hotfoil stamps.

The Stora Enso Gallop line is designed to produce short run, on demand packaging as well as larger runs with serialisation such as Datamatrix or any type of variable code. It is able to print 12-15 hours a day on heavy media with a wide colour gamut combined with features to protect brand owners against counterfeiting.

The cartonboard used by Goldprint on the line is Stora Enso Tambrite.
