GOEBEL IMS completes several orders from the aluminium industry in the second half of 2015

Productivity and top quality combined with a high level of process automation are of great importance in the aluminium industry's day-to-day business. GOEBEL IMS, one of the leading suppliers of slitting rewinders and embossing machines for the aluminium industry, will be delivering several machines to its customers in the second half of 2015.

Chinese rolling mill relies on slitter rewinder from GOEBEL IMS

A Chinese aluminium producer from Shanghai has commissioned GOEBEL IMS with the supply of a RU 6, one of the most efficient and reliable slitter rewinders for aluminium fin stock. It slits alufoil with thicknesses between 30 to 120 µm at a speed of up to 1,500 m/min. Typical applications of the RU 6 is fin stock for heat exchangers and air conditioning systems, container foil, strip panels, lacquered strip for rolling shutters as well as lacquered strip for decoration and profiles. The RU 6 is characterized by two drums and two independent rewinding stations. With increasing reel diameters, each rewinding station moves away from the drum on linear motorized guides in order to ensure a constant nip angle and a consistent contact pressure during the entire process. This state-of-the-art rewinding technology guarantees outstanding quality even with very delicate and difficult materials and reel diameters of up to 1,840 mm. To increase the efficiency in the production process, the slitting cassette equipped with rigid knives is easily interchangeable, thus significantly reducing the changeover time. To meet specific customer requirements, there are several equipment options available such as a fully-automatic coil loading cart with a spool sideway ejection conveyor, as well as a complete system for the unloading and further handling of finished reels. Carbon fibre rollers ensure the lowest friction with the lowest weight and the highest rigidity. The RU 6 will be delivered to the customer by the end of 2015 to help increase the productivity and efficiency of the rolling mill in the future.

GOEBEL IMS supplies slitter rewinder to Bulgarian aluminium manufacturer

Many years of experience in the converting of alufoil and state-of-the-art technology convinced a leading manufacturer of rolled and extruded aluminium products in Eastern Europe to order the high-end slitter rewinder RU 5 from GOEBEL IMS. The RU 5 is an extremely versatile machine with two independent rewinding stations that allow the slitting and rewinding of naked as well as lacquered and laminated aluminium foil with thicknesses between 50 and 400 µm. Upon customer request the RU 5 can be equipped with a fully-automatic coil loading cart and easily interchangeable slitting cassettes which both help to increase the efficiency in the production process. The slitter rewinder features a block-knives slitting unit that guarantees the highest slitting quality for thin and medium gauge aluminium foil at a speed of up to 800m/min and reel diameters of up to 1,200 mm. In December 2015, the RU 5 will be delivered and installed at the aluminium production facility in Bulgaria.

GOEBEL IMS delivers four embossing machines to China and Greece
GOEBEL IMS will be completing four orders in total for their embossing machine K 100 for alufoil and special complexes (alufoil and paper) in the second half of 2015. Among the customers is one of the world`s leading manufacturers of flexible packaging and labels from Europe that supplies its products to numerous multinational corporations and local market leaders in the food, pet food, pharmaceuticals and beverage industries. The K 100 is designed for the extremely accurate embossing of sophisticated design patterns on delicate materials such as aluminium foil with thicknesses from 8 µm up to laminated materials with 130 µm at a speed of up to 400m/min. Applications of the K 100 include aluminium foils for chocolate wrapping, decoration or roofing as well as aluminium lids for plastic pots, laminates for board boxes and metalized paper for labels. The highest embossing quality and accuracy is obtained through a combination of adjustable hydraulic pressure, outmost mechanical precision and state-of-the-art software for a constant and smooth web tension through the entire process. The K 100 also features special gears specifically developed for the embossing process by experienced engineers at GOEBEL IMS. Three out of the four orders have already been shipped to China and Greece between October and November.
