Gidue parallels Drupa

19 April 2012

During Drupa 2012, Italian manufacturer of printing and converting machines Gidue will stage a “Permanent Open House” at its factory in Florence from 3-18 May, showcasing special solutions for the label and flexible packaging markets.

Dedicated demos can be organized on the Master M5 630 digital flexo press, in line with Gidue’s new Master SL 630 solventless laminator. The “potentially revolutionary” combination of UV flexo and in-line solventless lamination is said to “virtually eliminate” the risk of ink migration, as it avoids any contact of UV inks with the reel (and with the packaged food), by ‘protecting‘ the UV printed surface with a laminated film before winding.

According to Gidue MD Federico d’Annunzio, “label converters, well aware of UV flexo technology, could easily enter the lucrative short run flexible packaging market, with a limited ‘learning curve’, and provide excellent UV flexo print quality.
