Since its voluntary winding-up in January, Italian narrow web press manufacturer Gidue has been co-operating with Nuova Castagnoli to provide service to its 350 press installations worldwide, and to sell the Gidue equipment on stock.
“Intensive team work” between the two companies is said to be giving customers the same “Gidue quality of service”. Despite the uncertain economic times, sales of existing equipment went unexpectedly fast and in less than three months 16 presses have been sold, with a wide range of configurations.
Forty per cent of the sales were made to new customers, and 60 per cent to existing customers. The company says this confirms the constant ratio of sales during the past years - “a clear sign of trust and loyalty from the market”.
"I was surprised to see how good the market response was for our existing stock, also thanks to the active support of Nuova Castagnoli," remarks Antonio Patane, a liquidator of Gidue. "People seem to like the technology very much."
He also confirmed that Gidue in liquidation and the trade unions have signed a set of agreements including the proposal that Nuova Castagnoli continue the company’s activities.
