Following a major expansion four years ago which doubled the size and capacity of its Troy, Ohio, operation, US supplier of custom adhesive and top-coated materials for the pressure sensitive industry 3 Sigma is growing again.
A new production coating line will be the company’s 14th, and its largest and most capable piece of equipment. Work on the project is scheduled to start early in 2011 and be completed in the third quarter.
The machine, retrofitted to 3 Sigma specifications, will accommodate 78 inch web materials and apply multiple coatings and/or adhesives on both the front and back of the web. A laminating station will allow pressure-sensitive constructions with liner or multilayered product designs.
Vice President of Operations Tony Rowley states: “After weathering the recent industry downturn, 3 Sigma is poised for additional growth and anticipates significant business increases in 2011 and 2012. Not only is the increased capacity needed to handle our expected business growth, this additional coater will significantly expand our process capabilities and enable us to provide more highly engineered constructions for new markets.”
