Fujifilm opens plate factory in China

15 August 2007

Fujifilm has opened a new plate factory in China that will be a centre of production for its PS and CTP plates for offset printing.

The company says the factory, which is 150,000m2 and employs 230 staff, will mean Fujifilm can meet domestic demand and leverage its position to increase exports to Asia and other destinations.

Fujifilm Graphics Division marketing manager Graham Leeson says: “The second plate line in China is part of Fuji’s ongoing worldwide investment in plate technology and manufacture, and follows the investment in 2006 of E40m in its European plant in Tilburg, Netherlands. The introduction of the second plate lines in both Tilburg and China will enable Fuji to supply a wider range of plates in different sizes to its various markets globally.”
