UK based Integrated Packaging has installed a B1 CTP system from Fujifilm at its Gateshead site. It comprises two Luxel T-9500 CTP thermal platesetters, capable of outputting 22 plates/hour using Fuji’s Brillia HD LH-PJE high definition plates. Also supplied by Fujifilm is a colour proofing system which includes an Epson 40 inch inkjet proofer.
Integrated Packaging general manager Godfrey Burn says: “We were experiencing reliability and service problems with our previous CTP supplier. In our industry, you just can’t afford to let your customers down; understandably, they demand quality work, delivered on time. That’s why we turned to Fujifilm.
“The installation process was superb. We did not lose one minute of production time, which was some achievement. By installing two Luxel platesetters we have ensured that we will always have a back-up in case of emergency.”
The company recently installed a Komori six colour press equipped with fully automatic plate changing, capable of producing 500,000 sheets/week.
Godfrey Burn adds: “The fact that Fuji’s plate is non bake is good for UV printing, as previously we had to bake all of our plates. Within just a month of installation, we are already achieving run lengths of 103,000 with no quality issues.”
