Fuji upgrades treating

6 April 2005

In 2002, Fuji Photo Film, in Tilburg, The Netherlands, one of the world's biggest production facilities for coated photographic material and clichés, invested in a Corona-Plus treater from Vetaphone for its pilot line. After two years of experience and tests on the line, Fuji has now opted for another Vetaphone system to upgrade its production facility to run new materials at a higher speed and increased quality.

The new Corona-Plus treater has four electrode hoods and a water cooled ceramic backing roller with a diameter of 500mm. Fuji's engineers defined a need of 46W/m²/min, for treatment of a wide range of materials, so a type CP-5 36KW generator was specified. This employs a resonant system that is said to ensure a smooth, uniform treatment without any risk of making pinholes.
