Korsnäs is to acquire Frövi, Sveaskog's cartonboard operations AssiDomän Cartonboard. For SEK3,650M. Completion of the deal, subject to approval from the relevant competition authorities, is expected in the first half of 2006.
Sveaskog chairman Bo Dockered comments: "Korsnäs has substantial competence within Frövi's product areas, which will give Frövi greater opportunities to develop as a leading and long term, competitive market player. This transaction conforms with our strategy to streamline Sveaskog's role as a forest owner."
Sveaskog has also signed contracts for continued deliveries of timber and biofuel to Frövi.
