A Mark Andy 4150 10 colour press has been installed at the recently expanded North Branford, Connecticut, plant. The machine is designed to produce high end film labels and can be supplemented with additional mobile rotary screen stations and hot foil stamping. It has both UV and infra red drying, and a corona treatment facility.
"We have added the screen capability to handle the demand in the filmic labels sector, and to develop specialty niche markets," reveals Steve Stewart, president of Brook & Whittle USA. "We want to pursue the most demanding work in the business."
On the other side of the ocean, an eight colour Mark Andy 2200 UV flexo press has gone into the company's factory in Salford, UK. With an anilox roll screen count of over 1,000 lpi, it will be ideal for use with digital imaged printing plates, used to produce Brook & Whittle's Litho-Look labels.
