From Dresden to ‘down under’

22 December 2009

German manufacturer of cutters, folder-gluers and hotfoil and hologram stamping modules Kama has entered into a sales co-operation with Heidelberg Australia/New Zealand (HAN).

The Dresden based company’s machines will now be distributed across the region for the first time.

“After successfully entering the Japanese market last year, we are using this new co-operation to expand our involvement in the Asia-Pacific region,” explains Marcus Tralau, Kama’s managing director, who believes the region has been less severely affected by the global crisis than Europe and America.

“The Kama machines and their wide range of applications for A2 and A3 print finishing fit perfectly into our sales portfolio,” adds HAN managing director Andy Jensen. “As Markus Tralau points out, many printers in the Australasian region see the expansion of their post-press and finishing activities as a chance to use high-end services to increase in-house added value, enhance their profile and stabilise their market position.

“This is not only the finishing of printed products such as presentation folders, CD cases, displays, calendars and folding cartons, but also the automatic folding and gluing of items at rapid throughputs and consistently high quality. The hot cutting of plastics using Kama ProCut automatic die cutters is also meeting with keen interest.
