Folder-gluer adjusts belts automatically

13 February 2015

The new FlexFold 52 folder-gluer with automated set-up from Kama is designed for short and medium runs, as well as dealing with frequent and very fast job changes. It can also be set up quickly for different products and formats.

A distinctive feature of the machine is the patent pending APA System (automated plough length adjustment), which makes it possible to adjust the folding belts automatically - not only in transverse, but also in longitudinal direction. As a result, changeovers, which often take hours on conventional equipment, can now be performed in minutes.

The FlexFold 52 folder-gluer is capable of handling straight-line, crash-lock and telescope boxes, operating at a speed of 200m/min. It can process cartonboard from 180-600g/m², and micro-flute from 0.4-0.9mm.

Network integration is via JDF/JMF, and quality of output is guaranteed by the inclusion of an inspection and reject unit on the gluing line.
