UK Labels has installed a 6-colour Webflex 330 press from Focus Label Machinery. The Oldbury based supplier of blank labels, laser sheets and printed roll and sheet formats now intends to raise its profile in higher quality multicolour label printing.

The new press has been specified to handle substrates ranging from unsupported films to labelstock and cartonboard. Its modular design incorporates closed loop tension unwind, six print stations, with the Rapid Change Cartridge system, three rotary die stations, laminating, a slitting/pacing unit, rotary sheeter station and rewind.

Another new Focus 6-colour press has recently started up at North Lanarkshire based DE Product Labels. The Proflex 330 is a 13 in wide modular in-line machine with quick change print cassettes, two die stations, a sheeting station, slitting, rewinding and a combination of infra-red and UV drying systems.

DE is using the press to print self-adhesive labels on a range of substrates, David Edwards commented “It has increased our productivity considerably and gives us plenty of options for the future. It has enabled us to produce a higher quality of work, which in turn, is opening doors in new markets for us.“
