Following the successful performance of its eight colour Flexotecnica N8G gearless flexo press which was commissioned in 2004, Scottish company InterFlex recently purchased a second N8G.
Both presses have eight colours around the CI drum featuring sleeve technology and a gearless servodrive system. The machines are identical in specification with the exception of an increased print speed of 500m/min and carbon fibre print and anilox mandrels. This allows complete interchangeability between the presses for optimum flexibility in production planning.
The second line also includes shaftless turret winders for automatic splicing, quick release doctor blade chambers, edge guides before printing and rewinding, and the Speedy Clean inking and auto wash-up system with computer assisted viscosity units.
Management of the print process is by the FNC-3000 numerical control system which stores all printing parameters for recall on repeat orders. In-line LEL automatic solvent control and anti static equipment also features on the press.
InterFlex plans to add an advanced video camera for web inspection with PRegister and automatic impression setting systems.
