Flexo show to feature digital and time to market

18 October 2004

IIR Exhibitions has opened flexo 2005 to include leading suppliers of digital systems and solutions throughout the entire print production process. Digital inkjet and laser print engine suppliers are now being invited to exhibit at the show along with companies manufacturing integrated in-line or off-line post print, converting and finishing equipment.

Event Manager Michelle Corbyn explains: "We see digital press technology as a logical next step development and partner to the flexo market. Visitors to the show will be able to compare new innovations in both flexo and digital technology side by side and seek impartial advice from our on-site consultation service."

Opportunities to assess and compare the capabilities of both digital and flexo technologies will be facilitated through the inclusion of seminar and best practice programmes including a 'Time to Market Solutions Advisory Centre' (T2M). This will provide technology assessment and consultation on real-time jobs, and feature a series of industry expert-led debates covering topics such as short run production, marketing solutions to the supply chain, and identification of new print applications.

The T2M programme will be supported byan on-site networking lounge to provide a 'technology without tears' environment specifically geared to bridge knowledge gaps within the supply chain for non technical marketing and creative personnel attending the event.

John Birkenshaw, Pira International's manager of pre-press and printing, comments: "The future role for digital technology is enabling greater integration of supply chain functions including print, pack and despatch, and ultimate elimination of warehousing of finished goods".
