US owned company FLEXcon recently celebrated 50 years in business and recognized staff who have reached various length of service milestones. The joint celebrations were enjoyed by employees from both European sites in Glenrothes, UK, and Weesp, The Netherlands. President and ceo Dave Rosen and other executives flew in especially to join in the celebrations in Europe, which featured presentations to those who have reached the milestones of 5, 10, 25, and 30 years of service.
Founded in 1956 by Myles McDonough as “a two-person, garage based company” that laminated plastics films for the shoe industry, FLEXcon has grown into a major polymeric coater and supplier of pressure sensitive film and adhesive products. The company began sales and distribution activities in Europe in the mid 1970s, and opened its Glenrothes manufacturing and product development facility in the late 1990s.
Today, with manufacturing operations in the US and Europe, it is a multi million dollar company with over 1,200 employees.
