FlexCan is fine for fruit

23 July 2004

Sundora Foods has chosen Amcor FlexCan - the patented new pack style from Amcor Flexibles - for the relaunch of its range of dried fruit. Amcor FlexCan is an easy open and reclosable, stand-up flexible container with a wide opening making it ideal for the 500g and 250g packs of apricots, prunes and other dried fruits.

According to Sundora purchasing director Eric Scott: "The FlexCan is the perfect consumer friendly solution for this kind of product since it is easy to dispense the dried fruit directly from the pack, it can be resealed to keep the product fresh and it stands up in the fridge for easy storage after opening."

Reverse printed six colours gravure by Amcor Flexibles Colodense, in the UK, on a Rotomec press, the three-ply laminate of OPP, metallized PET and lapseal PE includes Amcor's patented easy open, reclose flap and gives a stiff structure to ensure the multi stacking capability required by most supermarkets.

Amcor says excellent graphic presentation is achieved with sandwich print and a metallized background, and the new packs use less area of laminate than the previous stand-up pouches and gives more efficient use of outers and palletization.

The FlexCan was developed by Amcor Flexibles in partnership with German packaging machine manufacturer Rovema.
