A “world record speed” of a kilometre per minute for flexible package printing has been claimed by Fischer & Krecke and Excelsior Packaging during various print runs on an F&K Flexpress 36 S - the first of a new series of presses designed by F&K with Excelsior. The companies also believe they have achieved a production speed record of 696m/min of sustained long term production.
Says Excelsior ceo Ron Shemesh: "We are extremely pleased to have participated in this historic event and have placed orders with F&K for several more of these wide web presses. The sheer volume and quality of the output delivered by this technology will dramatically change the economics of flexographic printing.”
Fischer & Krecke managing director Andreas Kueckelmann adds: "This partnership has achieved phenomenal production speeds and is poised to go even higher. It delivers a new industry benchmark for speed with the legendary F&K print quality. I am sure that with the brand new Flexpress 6S we will also set new standards in the segment of compact ‘entry level’ presses for a wide range of orders.”
