UK flexible packaging converter Skymark has invested in a new flexo press to restore lost production capacity caused by the devastating fire at its Leominster facility. The new Fischer & Krecke FP 16S-10 press with Smart GPS, is due to become operational in the company’s Scunthorpe facility before the end of September.
The FP 16S-10 offers a 10-colour printing capability, a top speed of 600 m/min and can print a wide ange of substrates. It features maintenance-free gearless direct drive of the CI cylinder to ensure improved register performance; pivoting, easily accessible intermediate dryers; and the Access system, which allows non-operational print units to be set up during a production run. Time consuming, costly registration and impression related set-up when changing over to a new print job are eliminated by F&K’s new Sart GPS (Graphic Positioning System).
