Fix is fit for CAD data

24 May 2004

Unilever has chosen CADfix from ITI TranscenData to enhance the file sharing capability at its Port Sunlight R&D site.

Richard Parker, Unilever's packaging design technology centre manager, comments: "Although we have only been using it for a few weeks, we have already achieved very favourable results. Files which we had given up on have become workable, and we are significantly reducing the time some of our CAD operators spend repairing data."

Unilever has a centre of excellence for Packaging Design Technology at Port Sunlight. Currently, this handles CAD data traffic relating to some of the key innovation projects, working with the key Global Technical Centres to find new ways to repair and translate data from all types of CAD systems. CADfix is already helping to speed up this process, but eventually it should enable packaging departments across the world to send and accept CAD files seamlessly, speeding up the design process.
