At Interpack 2014, Jindal Films introduced three new films which are formulated to help users improve performance and meet sustainability challenges.in packaging and label applications.
Bicor 50 SuP 490 is an OPP-based sealant film for stand-up pouch applications. It is said to offer excellent stiffness for stand-up display, high transparency for optimum visibility, and outstanding moisture barrier, while providing opportunities for downgauging compared with blown linear low density polyethylene or cast polypropylene alternatives.
Metallyte MM688 OPP is a metallised, surface printable monoweb film with a broad seal range and operating window for high speed horizontal form fill and speed packaging. With a very low temperature seal coating, the film can replace lamination while maintaining moisture, flavour and aroma barriers.
Label-Lyte 52LLC247 is a new white lightweight oriented PO film offering "excellent converting characteristics, conformability and flexibility" for pressure sensitive label applications. Jindal says its conformability and squeezability will allow labels to remain intact and appear new even after multiple squeezes of the container. The printable surface enables point-of-sale impact to be enhanced for health and beauty care, household products, beverages, canistered or bottled food.
