Film offers maximum functionality from minimal material

18 June 2014

Südpack says its new Veraplex film will provide maximum product protection with minimal film thickness. Although the film is extremely thin, it combines outstanding puncture resistance with an extremely high oxygen/aroma barrier, the company states.

Veraplex is said to be suitable for products with high mechanical requirements and for corrosive bulk products. It can be laminated with paper to create "a very eco-sustainable packaging".

Südpack managing partner Johannes Remmele comments: "The material achieves an outstanding thickness to function performance ratio that is unprecedented in today's market. It's a revolution in film."

The new film is highly transparent and can be printed using flexo or rotogravure processes.
