Field Boxmore opts for Fuji CTP

9 May 2007

In the UK, Field Boxmore Healthcare Packaging has installed two Fujifilm violet CTP platesetters with the prepress supplier’s automatic Open Workflow. The specialist pharmaceutical packaging printer will install a dual-laser Luxel Vx-9600 platesetter at each of its Tewkesbury and Greenford sites.

Andrew Kear, prepress manager of GB leaflets, a sub division of Field Boxmore, says the company chose the technology for its speed, capacity, cost, plate quality and future product road map.

“We decided on Fuji’s violet CTP technology for its high speed as well as its capacity. Also, we are a highly environmentally conscious company with ISO 14001 accreditation, and using the Fuji technology means using less chemistry. Additionally, we have found Fuji plates to be of a very high quality. They are suitable for use with UV inks and can easily handle our longest run lengths of over 100,000 impressions.”

The Luxel Vx-9600 produces up to 43 B1 plates/hour, and supports all common B1 and B2 press sizes.
