In the USA, the Fibre Box Association and TAPPI have released the biennial Productivity and Waste Survey, providing information from participating plants against which companies can evaluate their productivity, waste and starch consumption data. Surveying top performers, it includes information on machinery and labour operations, as well as waste from box plants from primarily US operations – but also several international plants.
Covering 38 participating companies with more than 340 participating plants from 12 countries, the productivity and waste survey contains a summary report for converting equipment; detailed reports for converting equipment, basis weight, starch consumption; total plant productivity; and equipment listings by plant.
FBA vice president Brian O’Banion states: “With ample integrated plant information represented in the data, this survey provides the best-in-class data for users to compare operations. It is an essential tool for many smaller companies to benchmark their performance, since this data is not available anywhere else.”
The survey is available for purchase on the FBA and TAPPI websites. It costs $100 for participants, $250 for FBA non participating members, $350 for TAPPI members and $500 for non participants.
