‘Fastest’ RFID inlay production line

4 August 2008

Mühlbauer has launched what it claims to be the world's fastest RFID inlay production line. The new TAL 20000 is said to provide a quantum jump in flip chip assembly technology for RFID inlays, by doubling the assembly and test speed to 20,000 inlays/hour.

The new equipment is suitable for all die sizes from 0.3 x 0.3 mm to 5.0 x 5.0 mm and is said to offer the lowest possible glue consumption by using latest epoxy jetting technology. It also offers the flexibility to handle all HF and UHF applications, and all types of antenna technologies, including labels, tickets, baggage tags and contactless cards.

The machine’s web width of up to 610 mm will accommodate all the standard formats of the card industry and, says Mühlbauer, it is ready for future applications for multi-component labels (battery assisted tags).
