The UK based Monument Paper Bag Co has 10 machines from New Long Industrial, of Japan - including three recently purchased sack systems that enable it to diversify into the multi-walled paper sack market.
NLI’s MC20 tuber is fully servo controlled, making job size changes quick and easy to set up. An interesting feature of the 106B bottomer is the addition of a novel method of opening a sack without the use of steel blades, simply by pulling on a tear tape.
Monument’s other machinery from NLI includes a 6N auto-feed handle application sewing machine for finishing the sacks.
Says company owner David Long senior: “Much interest has been shown already by many of the larger flour mills as well as produce packers. We hope to expand into other products, such as animal feeds and the farming industries.”
A few years ago, NLI purchased all intellectual property and knowhow for F&K’s Combi range of paper bag and Kochsiek sack machines, and established its own sales and service support centre in Bielefeld, Germany. This company, known as Konli, offers complete production lines from the blank web to the training bag pallet.
