Expansion in Estonia

5 January 2011

From zero to €4 million in nine years, Sten Sarap, the Chairman of Estonian converter LabelPrint, has turned an initial investment of €60,000 into a multi-million company by hard work and a lot of help from Mark Andy technology.

“We started with a secondhand 7 inch press because it was the cheapest way to enter the market, and we had great support from Mark Andy’s Swiss office,” recalls Mr Sarap. “When the time came to invest in new machines, it was the obvious way to go – the 2200 is a true all-round performer, produces top quality labels and is very easy to operate.”

Three 2200 presses have been installed by the Tallinn-based converter in the past 18 months, all high specification, including foiling, laminating and hot air/UV capacity, and two fitted with units for booklet label production. The investment programme also includes a Rotoflex rewinder.

LabelPrint has now ordered one of Mark Andy’s new Performance Series presses - due for delivery in February 2011. Mr Sarap plans to have four of them eventually.
