ERA Packaging Gravure Awards

The European Rotogravure Association’s 2007 ERA Packaging Gravure Award competition offers all participants in the production chain the opportunity to show gravure quality in packaging printing. The award categories are: flexible packaging, subdivided into substrate types (paper, film, foil, laminates);- shrinkwrap sleeves; labels; cartonboard; speciality, security and ‘intelligent’ printing; innovation prize for technical developments and new fields of application. The innovation prize is also open to suppliers of equipment, materials, software.

There will also be a ‘newcomers’ prize for the best entry from a company which never entered before; a prize for the best use of a PDF based workflow; and the ‘speciality and security’ category now also covers ‘intelligent’ packaging such as printed RFID tag aerials and over-temperature sensors. All entries must have been printed in 2006 or 2007.

The competition is open to both members and non members of ERA, anywhere in the world. Entries may be made by any partner in the production chain (design, repro, printer, brand owner). Closing date for entries is August 30, 2007. Full details and application forms are available from the ERA.

The awards will be presented at the autumn ERA International Packaging Conference.
