Entries for the European Rotogravure Association's 2005 Packaging Gravure Award competition must be in by Friday, July 1. The competition is open to both members and non members of ERA. Entries must be printed in 2004 or 2005.
The award categories are: flexible packaging, subdivided into paper, foil, and film (including composites); cartonboard; speciality, security and 'intelligent' printing; and an innovation prize for technical developments and new fields of application. New this year is a 'newcomers' prize for the best entry from a company that has never entered before. There will also be a prize for the best use of a PDF based workflow; and the 'speciality and security' category now covers 'intelligent' packaging such as printed RFID tag aerials and over-temperature sensors.
The Awards will be presented at the autumn ERA International Packaging Conference.
