Due to "the tight supply-demand balance and rising production costs", Equipolymers increased its PET prices by €80/t, effective September 1.
Equipolymers is a 50/50 global joint venture between Petrochemical Industries Co, of Kuwait, and Dow Chemical, with headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland. It has production facilities in Ottana, Italy, and Schkopau, Germany. A second PET plant in Schkopau is expected to start-up by the end of 2004, bringing the company's PET production apacity to approximately 434,000t.
