Environmental advance from Clarifoil

1 September 2010

Cellulose acetate films producer Clarifoil says its new Eco film is cost effective and has ‘exceptional green credentials’. It offers excellent transparency with a premium glossy finish, is scuff and scratch resistant and is easy to process. The film also meets the direct food contact requirements of the EU and US (FDA) regulations.

Especially suitable for bakery products, which are often packed straight from the oven, Clarifoil Eco has a high moisture transmission ratio (WVTR), allowing products to maintain optimum freshness while avoiding condensation on the film surface.

In addition, Clarifoil Eco is a thinner, less dense film offering more linear metres per kilogramme. This reduces raw materials costs and the frequency of roll changeovers. The film’s primary raw material is sustainable wood pulp sourced from managed forestry in North America, giving it strong environmental credentials, and it is EN/ASTM and OK home compost certified.
