Entry level flexo/letterpress platesetter from Screen

19 June 2013

Screen Europe has launched the PlateRite FX870IIE, an 'entry level' version of its PlateRite FX870II thermal CTP engine designed for print service providers looking to enter the growing sticker and label printing markets.

Combining production level plate throughput with imaging resolutions up to 4,800dpi, the PlateRite FX870IIE is said to address the need for high quality flexo/letterpress print output at a reduced cost of ownership. It offers the same high quality output and resolution as the established PlateRite FX870II device, plus features such as the ability to optionally image thermal offset plates.

Productivity is set at about half that of the FX870II, enabling the new model to image flexo plates at a rate of 2m2/hour (approximately four 762 x 635mm plates per hour) depending on plate sensitivity. Plates can be loaded in any size from 100 x 100mm up to 870 x 762mm without any additional handling or masking of the drum required.
