Bimec, the Italian manufacturer of slitter rewinders, has further enhanced the TCA series of duplex turret slitter rewinders.
The latest developments are said to allow the machines to run at 700m/min. The new models have already been installed in Europe and Australia. “High speed, quick change-over times, ergonomic design and the high quality of finished rolls are the main reasons converters choose the Bimec turret machines,” says the company.
The TCA series consists of three models: TCA/44 for rewinding diameter up to 450mm, TCA/64 for rewinding diameter up to 600mm, and TCA/84 for rewinding diameter up to 800mm.
The machines are available in four different configurations: a compact version with integral unwind stand; another with overhead web path; one with web path under running board; and a version with inside or outside rewinding.
All models can unwind mother roll diameter up to 1,500mm and are equipped with shaftless unwind stand and devices to speed up setting times and finished roll unloading operations. These include automatic setting of the rotary shear knives unit, automatic positioning of the cores, a roll pushing system and a quick unloading device.
The latest Bimec machines will be displayed on stand 11E74 in Hall 11 at drupa 2008, in Düsseldorf.
