Empire Tapes has installed a second Ghezzi & Annoni automatic slitter rewinder. Supplied by UK agent Eurograv, this TG400 machine is designed to slit and rewind adhesive products onto one inch diameter cores. The company already had a TG150 model for three inch cores; the TG400 handles one inch cores.
Empire managing director Dean Sherriff comments: "With more than 1,500 kinds of adhesive tape, we seriously needed a dedicated manufacturing process. The G&A slitters have doubled our investment level, but due to their inherent design we are producing far greater quantities than we could have ever imagined with either a lathe or a conventional slitter. It has also had the benefit of stabilising quality and slit widths, and our customers are very pleased with the results."
