White edges, visible at any cut edge or corner of a carton, have always detracted from the finished product. A new cast coated board, Chromolux True, has been specially developed by M-real to remove this problem by having a base paper dyed in dark blue. It is said to eliminates the stark contrast between a white edge and the surface of the carton.
According to M-real, the printable surface is "very smooth, even and glossy, allowing enormous creative design potential". It is also claimed to be ideal for all types of surface finishings such as film laminating and blind or relief embossing, for the design of exclusive cartons for cosmetics, perfumes and other luxury goods.
Chromolux True is available in weights of 275, 300 and 350g/m2.
