Edale excels in Brussels

8 October 2007

Labelexpo Europe was a great success for UK based flexo press manufacturer Edale. From the moment the doors opened, the company’s stand was inundated with visitors from around the world, including many from Africa and South America.

“Labelexpo has been a fantastic show for us this year, with record number of quality enquiries and a healthy amount of visitors from our home market in the UK,” reports managing director James Boughton. “This time we have tried to offer our visitors something different to the numerous modular presses that fill these halls. We like to think we offer the complete solution in terms of machinery available. Our Lambda machine further proves this, as pretty much any reel-fed application can be achieved - with the added bonus, that it can be completely re-configured in the future for something else.”

The main attraction was the Lambda ‘plug and play’ converting platform which allows many configurations and applications to be produced from on a single machine. The Lambda was receiving its European launch and was configured as an RFID system with a multilayer process, registering two webs together and inserting an RFID tag using the Tamarack P500 RFID unit. It was producing ski lift passes and swing tickets.

Also featured in Brussels was Edale’s “ever successful” compact Alpha flexo press, and a preview of the company’s latest innovation, the Gamma - a high end flexo printing and converting press featuring the Pit-Stop Colour change system. A functioning Gamma printhead was being demonstrated, and its full launch is due next year.
