Over last five years, Indian manufacturer Mamata has emerged as a major global supplier of bag and pouch making machinery, competing successfully against established companies on their home turf. It now has more than 2,500 installations in over 70 countries.
Flat bed universal bag machines, available in 32, 40 and 48 in widths, offer change-overs from side seal to bottom seal, to twin seal in less than 15 min. There is also a complete system to make security tamper evident bags, courier bags, coin bags and bank envelops.
Mamata also claims the world’s fastest running zipper wicketer – “perhaps 40 per cent higher than all other systems”. A recent development for production of bread bags is a servo driven square bottom attachment with a speed of 300 cycles/min.
Two other models cater to new entrants to the wicketed bag business: those who want to replace their old machines or those who need high speed production. Value additions include round bottom and square bottom attachments, a zipper attachment, punch banks, and header sealers.
