Easibind chooses Roland to print polymer

18 September 2008

UK based Easibind International has ordered a 5-colour Roland 500 press plus coater with full UV capabilities. The B2-plus press will be used mainly for printing ‘difficult’ substrates, such as PP materials, and will run alongside a B3 format set-up that includes a KBA Genius waterless press and two HP Indigo digital offset systems.

Easibind’s products are largely used for the packaging of paper materials and document presentation. They include binders, wallets, folders and diary covers. Printing on polymers also takes Easibind into a wide range of others markets, such as gift cards, loyalty cards, and membership cards; security wrist tags; lenticular; and new types of print production.

Features on the new Roland 500, which is capable of printing up to 16,000 sheets/hour, include the ability to handle substrates of up to 1 mm thick; Premium Plate Change and Premium Format Change for fast job change-overs; UV drying, including two interdeck and one end of press unit; ColorPilot D, which helps to ensure consistent colour reproduction throughout the print run; the PrintNet press management system; and TelePresence, which provides remote access for service specialists.
