DS Smith says it is encouraged by the provisional finding of the Competition Commission's inquiry that its completed acquisition of Linpac Containers is not expected to lead to a substantial lessening of competition (see June issue). The company "notes the commission's comments regarding the sheet market and is ready to provide further information as required". It says it will continue to work closely with the commission during the finalization of its inquiry, which is expected by November 3, 2004.
