Just in time for drupa 2008, Polar supplied its 7,500th high speed cutter to the UK market - an Autotrim M on a new LabelSystem installed at Liverpool based Tipografic. One of the leading producers of wet glue labels in Europe with a production in excess of 3B labels/year – the company has always used Polar machines.
In 2003, the first system for die cutting labels, a DC-10, was purchased, followed two years later by a second LabelSystem of the same specification. The core of these systems is a 137 Autotrim M automated cutter, which cuts the reams to strips, forms single stacks, then transports the products to a DC in-line die cutter and then to a BD single-head bander.
Good experiences with the two LabelSystems and a successful development in die cutting orders led to Tipografic ordering the new LabelSystem SC-20. With this system, the cutting and banding of square cut labels are also automated, and the single stacks are transported to a BM-105 multi-head bander.
