Gallus declared the drupa 2008 launch of its ICS 670 system a “resounding success”. Marketing manager Stefan Hagn enthuses: “Visitors told us it was the most innovative technology they had seen at the expo, and from the numbers who watched us put the new press through its paces, drupa was perfect for Gallus”.
Uli Kretzschmar, business development manager for folding cartons, commented: “We always had a full house whenever we ran the machine and the audience stayed all the way to the end of the demo – we could feel the excitement in the audience about the possibilities that our technology offers to the folding carton converters”.
Following Gallus’ acquisition of BHS, drupa was an ideal opportunity to demonstrate the combination of the companies’ expertise and technology embodied in the new ICS system. Designed to allow carton converters to develop their business into new and more profitable areas, the ‘ground up’ design of in-line technology is aimed at medium to long run cartons that require a high level of added value such as cosmetics, healthcare, confectionery and tobacco. These are all sectors forecast to grow rapidly in the next few years”.
