Drupa demo leads to sale

28 June 2012

US manufacturer of print finishing equipment Brandtjen & Kluge has sold the ComFold folding and gluing system it demonstrated at Drupa 2012. The machine, billed as the perfect folding and gluing solution for companies who need to convert a versatile range of short run jobs", has been purchased by Swedish converter Ranhammar.

Thomas Andersen, international sales director at Kluge, remarks: "We have been working with Ranhammer for some time on their need for a versatile foldergluer that will give them the in-house capability of converting such versatile jobs as boxes (straight-line and auto-lock), wallets and presentation folders. This machine will give them the versatility they are looking for while, at the same time, its modular design means the configuration can easily be changed to meet any future needs they may have.”

Lennart Jernfast, co-owner of Ranhammar confirms: " We bought the ComFold to address our growing need for folding and gluing. We have a variety of different short run jobs from our customers and chose the ComFold for its flexibility and short setup time, which is more important than speed with our run lengths of between 5,000 and 200,000 pieces per job."
