Dow Europe PP plant problem

8 November 2006

On November 7, 2006, Dow Europe announced Force Majeure for its PP resins produced in its Wesseling, Germany plant. This is due to an unexpected mechanical failure which has forced the company to shut down the plant.

Dow says it is “using all reasonable means to overcome this situation and restart production as soon as possible in a safe and reasonable manner. We have a multi disciplinary multinational team working diligently to minimize the impact on our customers and to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.”
