Accrington, UK, based SJA Film Technologies has maintained its growth this year with investments in a salvage rewinder, a folding machine, two more slitters, and a hot needle perforation unit. Most notable addition has been a high speed spooling machine from Double R. This 12-station system with shear slit capabilities can accommodate adhesive and non adhesive materials that are either extensible or non extensible. Slit width range is 4.75-30mm.
SJA was formed three years ago, focused mainly on servicing the cast PP industry in partnership with Innofol Films. It operated initially with two slitters and added a further machine in 2004. During the course of the second year, the company widened its substrate range to include PET/BOPP laminates and high specification lidding films. It also purchased a 10,000ft2 factory and a further slitter.
