Doctor blade system has universal appeal

30 September 2011

Tresu has launched a lightweight, easily changeable chamber doctor blade system for narrow and mid-web flexo applications.

The FlexiPrint IMW E-Line system is said to ensure smooth, defect-free results with solvent, water-based or UV inks on ‘virtually all’ paper, folding carton and film substrates. At under 10kg, it requires no tooling and offers fast changeover, low maintenance as well as predictable, splash-free results. A patented fast seal-change system features flexible rubber seals said to form a perfect barrier at the chamber sides, minimizing the possibility of leakage.

The new system also includes Tresu’s E-Line doctor blade changing system, with which blades can be exchanged safely in less than one minute.

The unit has an ink volume of between 1.35-2.2 litre/m, depending on chamber size, and is suitable for anilox diameters between 64-200mm, web widths up to 1,500mm and printing speeds up to 500m/min. Bespoke designs of the system are available.
