Digital print on uneven and textured surfaces at full speed

16 May 2013

New technology from Xeikon is claimed to enable high quality digital carton printing on a wide range of materials. The company has developed the Alpine 516, a fuser drum with a flexible outer layer that helps to produce smooth and consistent print on uneven and textured media, especially recycled board stocks.

The Alpine 516 is now offered as an option - ordered with new machines or as retrofits - for the two 508mm wide presses in the Xeikon 3000 Series: the entry level 3050 and high speed 3500. These can print B2 and longer formats on board for folding carton.

The new drum can also be used with conventional smooth surfaced card substrates and papers, and has been Beta tested with several print sites.
