Digital Flex decides on Flint plates

3 September 2013

Italian prepress company Digital Flex recently purchased Flint Group's new nyloflex ACE Digital printing plates, which are said to offer considerable benefits to the printer. These include precise reproduction of details, high contrast images and smoother vignettes. Outstanding stability on press, reduced downtimes due to a very low dust attraction and clean running during printing are also promised when used with the nyloflex NExT exposure technology.

According to Flint, nyloflex NExT flat top dot technology enables the printer to achieve optimised ink laydown on press, as well as improving the highlights and fine vignettes. The LED-based exposure technology offers "precise and reliable surface screening as well as the reproduction of the finest image details". In corrugated postprint, nyloflex NExT exposure "shows not only an improvement in reproduction, but also a significant reduction of the fluting effect", the company states.

The exposure technology is applicable for all digital flexo plates, regardless of plate thickness and format, and can be easily implemented into the existing digital workflow. Unlike most competitive technologies, there is no need for additional consumables.
